The Americanism we need

Elon Musk was unhappy that Twitter suspended Babylon Bee, so he bought Twitter. That is the crux of Americanism - use your own money to fix a problem you see in society and make money while doing it.

While Elon and Trump are the famous ones, others are trying to address the left-liberal dominance in media and arts. The Daily Wire is a group featuring Ben Shapiro and others is a centre-Right media company. When Gina Carano, one of the stars of Mandalorian, was fired, Daily Wire got her to appear in their movies. There are many examples of restaurants and small businesses that allow lenient compliance with COVID norms etc. People are putting their money to solve the problems they see in society, making investments, creating businesses, and they are trying to make money while doing it. This is the essence of Americanism.

We need it here!

The central and state governments are trying to improve the ease of living in India using various initiatives. You may also hear that many initiatives are stalled because Government debt is too high so we have to cut funding. But they are not activating the main engine of improvement - the people. Why not let people improve on their own?

The view of the bureaucracy is that improvement will come when WE bring it. WE grant boons, WE give benefits, WE are the reason you have the life. And since the government does not have enough resources, we have to deny you a better life. This is the colonial mindset rooted in the bureaucracy. Clearly, when Sardar Patel created the Administrative Services along the lines of British Civil Services, he meant it to have an Indic perspective and not a colonial perspective. The bureaucracy of today has failed Patel.

If we untangle all the regulations and simplify governance, people will help build India. We will have that Americanism that is worth emulating.
