New Lens on Indian Epics, history and school system
Is there any explanation why Indic history and myths seem mashed together? Why we can find evidence of Ram Setu and yet some of the actions of Lord Ram seem unbelievable? There could be a reason...
I was delighted to watch this interesting TedX talk by Raj Vedam. He explains how the mythical stories from older civilisations actually told of scientific truth. I believe that leads to an interesting hypothesis.
A different pedagogy
It seems the older civilisations followed a different type of pedagogy. This style infused some “fictional elements” into the lives of revered people who actually existed. Thus, it is possible that Hercules may have actually existed, but some of the deeds attributed to him may be fictional. The same goes for Indic legends. What we may be witnessing here is a different style of teaching while reinforcing the revered “good” fellows.
Fact-based learning anchored in emotion.
A dry facts-based learning is difficult to retain and propagate without losses. We must ask if an emotive learning system is easy to retain and can spread in a loss-less manner. Is there scope for learning using new kinds of pedagogy, a new learning device, to extend our learning? Such a learning system may confuse those of us trying to differentiate between history and that learning device.
The lost differentiation technique
As a corollary, there must be a way ancients used to differentiate between what was actual history and what was embellished into a learning device. It is possible we may uncover a new way to look at our past.
Abrahamic faith especially Xtians mission is to "discard the sacred and digest the scientific" from Sanathana Dharma. (A)
People like you say "discard the sacred and retain the scientific" in Sanathana Dharma. (B).
(A) has a 300+ years head start while,
(B) does not even have a rudimentary narrative to build on except the already existing global narrative on Sanathana Dharma which is filled with lies at the worst or half truths at the best.
Good luck to you friend.
